World Health Organization (WHO) Sri Lanka is organizing an event to mark the International UHC Day on 12 December 2023. This year is an important year for WHO as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the organization. This event is aimed at bringing together all stakeholders and renewing emphasis on Sri Lanka’s efforts towards accelerating progress for Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals. The main commemorative event will be under the leadership of the Hon Minister of Health.
The main focus of the event would be a Policy Dialogue directed at one of the key challenges faced by the Sri Lankan health system – care of the elderly. It will be a platform to discuss rational directions for the next health policy cycle on effective interventions to support healthy aging. This is organized in collaboration with the recently established Center for Health Systems Policy and Innovation (CHSPI) led by the University of Colombo and The George Institute for Global Health.
