Pharmacy Students Association of Kenya (KEPhSA)
The following are plans by the Media and Publications Committee for KEPhSA, chaired by Mr Silvanus Manyala. We will organize a social media campaign, make an announcement and publish new content. Below are the details based on this year’s theme for the International Universal Health Coverage Day 2020. Our audience mainly includes members of the association (Pharmacy students and recent graduates) and the general public.
1. Brief video about “What is UHC?” where select individuals describe the concept.
Public education about Universal Health Coverage, Primary Health Care and Sustainable Development Goals in the same video. Content to be uploaded on our YouTube channel on 14/12/2020. Thumbnails for promotion of the video to be shared on 13/12/2020 via social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn).
The video will include compilations of brief clips by select individuals saying the following:
“Universal Health Coverage means that all people and communities receive the quality health services they need, without financial hardship. This includes the provision of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. UHC aims to ensure that all people receive essential health services without falling into poverty due to high health expenses.”
2. Poll on personal opinion-whether UHC is achievable in Kenya by 2030 for the Instagram story and Twitter feed.
This is aimed at gauging the members (and/or public) feelings and level of satisfaction about government efforts while assessing their comprehension of UHC. This will also act as a trigger to start the online discussion.
3. Tweet Chat and Instagram discussions.
Tweets to be made via #UHCDay2020, #ProtectEveryone and #TalkToKEPhSA for easy finding and engagement. Question(s) posted on Instagram Story for interaction with viewers. Responses to be shared as screenshots on Fleets and Stories.
4. Google form quiz to assess the level of understanding about UHC by our members. Link to be shared on 12/12/2020.
5. Series of social media posts (on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) about UHC and PHC to be shared on 12/12/2020.
These will be aimed at public education as we mark the International UHC Day 2020.
6. Publishing of an article on Issuu
To be done on Monday 14/12/2020. Link to be circulated.
