Partners for Health Equity (P4HE) Nigeria
December 10, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm UTC+1
The event is in Commemoration of Universal Health Day 2021, which this year is themed Leave No One’s Health: Invest in Health systems for all 🏥
In September, we held our 2nd workshop in Kuchingoro IDP Camp Abuja, FCT where 30 women from the camp were trained on making reusable face masks and hand sanitizers
Since launching our exciting flagship project, CHEEP has laid the groundwork for engaging further with marginalized communities such as IDP camps across our community.
Through guided community dialogue and engagement, we’re excited to be launching a new venture that will greatly impact the health of the IDP community
The Kuchingoro IDP camp is located opposite Games Village Abuja, a few miles from the Capital’s city centre. The camp is currently home to over 1,700 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), predominantly children who were displaced in 2014 because of the insurgency in Borno.
Currently, the occupants of the camp have no access to quality healthcare, meaning their health needs remain unmet. The women in this camp act as each other’s midwives. The public health challenges that dwellers of this camp face are unparalleled.
The night will showcase the fantastic work of the women of the Kuchingoro camp from our CHEEP initiative, as well as featuring spoken word artists and chances to win amazing raffle prices and more. The event is free and you can register using the link below 🎟
All funds raised will support the renovation of the Kuchingoro Camp Clinic, providing vital access to health care.
